a 17-year-old from Staten Island, New York, has made history as one of the youngest African American female pilots in the United States.
Her aviation journey began at 15 when she received a scholarship from the United Youth Aviators program. Balancing her academic commitments as a dual-enrolled student at Kingsborough Early College Secondary School and Kingsborough Community College, Kamora demonstrated exceptional dedication by earning her private pilot's license before obtaining her driver's license.
In February 2024, she became the youngest African American female licensed pilot in New York State. Her achievements have been recognized by various media outlets, including ABC7 New York.
Kamora's passion for aviation is matched by her academic excellence. She graduated high school a year early and earned a Presidential Scholarship to attend Spelman College, where she is majoring in International Relations and minoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
She aspires to become a commercial airline pilot and is committed to inspiring other young women of color to pursue careers in aviation. Her journey reflects her belief that "the sky is not the limit" and serves as a testament to the power of determination and perseverance in breaking barriers.
